Marwin Gonzalez, 1B, Houston Astros

Price: $2,900

It has been a quiet start to 2018 for Marwin Gonzalez, but there are very few forward-looking conclusions you can draw from only 17 plate appearances. Coming off a terrific 2017 season, it's hard to see his lack of production through four games as anything but variance. That is particularly true when you consider the fact that his batting average on balls in play (BABIP) sits at only .222 (compared to a .311 career average), despite making hard contact on one-third of his batted balls and having yet to record a soft-hit ball.

Gonzalez is in a good spot to turn things around as the Houston Astros' 5.61-run implied total is the day's highest for their matchup with Chris Tillman and the Baltimore Orioles.

Tillman is coming off an awful 2017 campaign that saw him concede an absolutely heinous 7.84 ERA, while his 5.76 SIERA wasn't a whole lot better. His 14.2% strikeout rate was his lowest since 2010, and his 11.5% walk rate was also his highest in that span.

Gonzalez was particularly good against righties last year, turning a 35.1% hard-hit and 17.4% soft-hit rate into a .397 wOBA and .230 ISO, making this a particularly intriguing matchup for him.
