The Chicago Cubs are one of two teams (the other being the champion Astros) with an implied total higher than the Yankees tonight, and their 4.93 runs are second-best on Friday's slate of games.

That high implied total comes as no surprise, as the Cubbies take on Miami Marlins' lefty Caleb Smith. The 26-year-old Smith pitched in nine games (18 2/3 innings) for the Yanks in 2017, managing a mediocre 4.86 SIERA. And the 57 right-handed batters he faced mashed him to the tune of a 5.39 xFIP.

Kris Bryant is not going to be a fun guy for Smith to make his third big league start against. Last season, he thrived against lefties, sporting a .405 wOBA and 19.7% walk rate in 157 plate appearances.
