Dee Gordon has been on a roll lately, with an ongoing 16-game hit streak, and it's getting awfully expensive to recruit him for his services. Still, under normal circumstances, you might consider him in a strong matchup against Jake Thompson (5.28 SIERA).

The problem on Thursday is that the Miami Marlins are using a shell of their usual lineup, as Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, and Christian Yelich are all sitting. That leaves Ichiro Suzuki and J.T. Realmuto batting behind Gordon, which doesn't make for the most intimidating top of the order. The whole team gets a downgrade, and since Gordon isn't a power hitter, he's unlikely to post a big score without the usual big boppers to knock him in.
