James McCann, C, Detroit Tigers

FanDuel Price: $2,400

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Gary Sanchez of the New York Yankees will surely be a chalky play at catcher since he'll be facing Robert Gsellman, who has really struggled this season and will be coming off the disabled list for his first appearance since June 27th.

With a relatively middling .337 wOBA, James McCann of the Detroit Tigers could be an after-thought tonight, which may prove to be a big mistake.

Why You Should Use Him:

The Tigers lead major league baseball in team wOBA against left-handed pitching (.355) and hard-hit rate (39.2%). They be facing Cole Hamels tonight, and what may surprise you is that Detroit's backstop is a big part of this equation. McCann has posted a 1.049 OPS, .312 ISO, and 42.6% hard-hit rate against lefties this season.

Let's also add that tonight's contest is in Texas, which ranks fifth in park factor over the last three years, making McCann a solid play at the tough-to-fill catcher spot in lineups.
