Andrew Cashner, Texas Rangers

Start: August 18th vs. Chicago White Sox
ESPN ownership: 16 percent

The industry's enthusiasm for high-octane strikeout pitchers like Lamet falls in direct inverse proportion to its apathy towards Andrew Cashner, who has maintained fringe fantasy ownership despite an impressive 3.36 season-long ERA mark and an especially noteworthy stretch of 2.81 ball across 25-plus innings over the last month.

The razor-thin margin between Cashner's 12.3% punchout rate and 9.6% walk rate makes this collective shrug quite understandable, though it might be foolish to scroll past the much-maligned righty this week as he toes the rubber against the tanking White Sox.

Chicago has clearly cashed out on 2017, with its offense scuffling mightily as its majors-ready roster has been picked clean over the past month. Don't expect the Sox to put Cashner's consistently shaky fastball command to the test either, as the team sports the lowest walk rate in the majors over that span.
