Alex Avila has been making ridiculous contact to start the season, and among hitters with at least 30 batted ball events heading into the All-Star break, he ranked 5th in average exit velocity and 15th in average batted-ball distance.

He's been especially deadly against right-handed pitching, with an absurd 59.3% hard-hit rate, 3.5% soft-hit rate and 39.8% fly-ball rate, which has translated to a .424 wOBA over 215 plate appearances.

Toronto Blue Jays righty Aaron Sanchez has struggled through 6 starts (26 innings pitched) this season, posting a 5.49 SIERA (putting him on pace for his third-straight year above 4.00), and he's not much of a threat to slow Avila down.
