Mike Fiers, SP, Houston Astros

FanDuel Price: $7,800

Why He Will Go Overlooked:

Pitching-wise, it's a challenging main slate to decipher, and two of the most expensive hurlers, Justin Verlander and James Paxton, will square off. With a lot of high implied team totals, the projected 8.5 runs in this tilt should lead to high ownership for these two studs.

After starting 2017 slowly with a 5.12 ERA over the first month, Mike Fiers of the Houston Astros isn't the most popular DFS pitching candidate, and is unlikely to get a ton of run this evening.

Why You Should Use Him:

Yup, in targeting our pitcher, we're picking on those Oakland Athletics again, and for good reason. Fiers will face an A's team that ranks 27th in wOBA against right-handed pitching (.319), with a healthy 25.0% strikeout rate to boot.

His 4.44 SIERA won't blow you away, but he's been on point as of late. In 19 1/3 June innings pitched, Fiers posted a 1.40 ERA, a .232 wOBA allowed, and struck out a season-best 20.8% of hitters.

With plenty of strikeout upside, Fiers is a strong play on the slate.
