Carlos Carrasco, P, Cleveland Indians

No offense to Carlos Carrasco, but he's a stud only in the context of today's main slate. We're really light on top-end pitching options (if you're playing the early or all-day slates, go ahead and jam in Max Scherzer as the clear-cut top pitcher), and Carrasco almost defaults into his ranking as top arm.

Carrasco hasn't had a bad season by any stretch -- his 3.82 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA) is still reasonable, despite being a significant drop from 2016's 3.44, and his 24.9% strikeout rate and 11.7% swinging strike rate are solid.

He also finds himself in a plus matchup, taking on a Baltimore Orioles team that ranks below-average with a 95 wRC+ against right-handed pitching, while also striking out at a top-10 rate (22.7%).

Carrasco is a solid play if you're set on paying up at pitcher today, but with batters like the three discussed below, this may be a slate to try to find a discounted arm.
