Aaron Sanchez may have a 4.62 SIERA this year, but he's only pitched 18 1/3 innings due to a stint on the DL. In his career, he has a 4.03 SIERA and 56.5% ground-ball rate, and managed a league average 20.4% strikeout rate in 2016. This doesn't make him the most exciting pitcher to attack.

Thus, despite the Baltimore Orioles' promising 4.52 implied team total, this is more of a middle-of-the-road spot on a full slate.

Adam Jones has a reasonable price and benefits from batting high in the Orioles' order, but much like his unexciting matchup, he has a lukewarm .320 wOBA and 32.8% hard-hit rate. He also has a pedestrian 90.5 mph average exit velocity on balls hit in the air this season.

In all, Jones simply doesn't make the cut as a value play.
