Victor Martinez, C, Detroit Tigers

FanDuel Price: $2,800

First of all, why is Victor Martinez still catcher-eligible? He last played the position in 2014 -- in two games.

At any rate, even at age 38, Martinez is making a bunch of hard contact (42.3%), so he's still a plenty useful player.

The problem is it isn't turning into extra base hits, as shown by his .016 isolated power and .240 wOBA. A low .269 BABIP ought to improve, but he's hitting the ball on the ground more often than in years past (46.2%), so it's hard to say how much home run power he'll ultimately have this season.

The Detroit Tigers are going up against Felix Hernandez, and while he may not be the dominant ace he used to be, he's not someone worth targeting, either. In four starts, he has a pedestrian 19.2% strikeout rate with a 1.0% walk rate. He's also limiting batters to a 22.5% hard-hit rate and 52.6% ground-ball rate.

None of that makes the Tigers particularly strong plays today, and despite a pretty modest price, you can find catching options with more upside than Martinez.
