Dan Straily, Miami Marlins

Swinging-Strike Rate (Rank): 10.2% (30th)

Strikeout Rate (Rank): 20.5% (42nd)

Recently traded to the Miami Marlins for a few prospects, right-hander Dan Straily comes off arguably the best season of his career, racking up 191.1 innings pitched in 31 starts while racking up a 14-8 record.

Straily has always shown the ability to generate swings-and-misses -- throughout his minor league career, he posted a strikeout rate of 25% or higher at five individual stops, including a combined mark of 31.5% over two stops in 150 innings pitched in 2012.

While walks continue to plague Straily (he walked 9.5% of hitters he faced last year), he was really hard to hit. His .218 batting average against ranked 11th among qualified starters in 2016.

Moving to the spacious confines Marlins Park should help this extreme fly-ball pitcher (32% ground ball rate), and hopefully the strikeouts will follow in 2017.
