Kike Hernandez at minimum salary against a southpaw is a play that tends to be hard to resist.

Despite his struggles this season, Hernandez has a career .273/.366/.485 slash with a .366 wOBA and .211 ISO against left-handed pitching. That success has come on a .323 BABIP with a 32.4% hard-hit rate, and his dip in production this year has come with a .225 BABIP despite his 31.8% hard-hit rate, leaving a lot of room for optimism.

Today's matchup with Matt Moore could do the trick as Moore has a 4.27 SIERA over his career and a 4.40 SIERA on the season. The San Francisco Giants' southpaws has a 4.66 xFIP against right-handed bats on the year, and he makes Hernandez a tough fade at such a low salary.
