Yonder Alonso, 1B, Oakland Athletics

Ever since he peaked with a career-best 3.13 SIERA in 2010, Jered Weaver has seen that number increase each season. It has been above 4.00 since 2012, and it sits at 5.63 this season.

He will be taking the mound against the Oakland Athletics today, and with his especially poor 5.91 xFIP against left-handed hitting this season, Oakland lefties should be salivating.

Yonder Alonso is a nice cheap way to get exposure to the situation. While his production hasn't quite reflected it, he has been making some great contact over the past month, sporting a 38.0% hard-hit rate. In a matchup this good, hitting in an Oakland lineup that should generate some good offense against Weaver.
