Jose Fernandez and Bumgarner on the same day is almost too much for my heart to handle. There’s also Jacob deGrom, Danny Salazar, Matt Shoemaker and Joe Musgrove, too. It’s a monster pitching slate.

Fernandez’s road matchup with the Cincinnati Reds at the homer-happy Great American Ball Park isn’t ideal. However, with some unbelievable strikeout numbers -- 35.7% strikeout rate to go with a 14.9% swinging-strike rate -- and a 2.65 SIERA, Fernandez always has through-the-roof upside.

The Reds haven’t fallen off since dealing Jay Bruce, but they do have a 22.0% strikeout rate at home. Cincinnati's implied total of 3.29 runs is the second-lowest clip of the slate.

With so many good pitching options tonight, Fernandez is a little riskier than normal because of the less-than-stellar matchup, but it may make him an even more attractive tourney option if his ownership is a little lower than usual.
