Running Back

Mark Ingram, New Orleans Saints

Week 10 Salary: $6,900

Week 11 Salary: $8,200

Speaking of the Saints, their remarkably improved defense was way too much for the Buffalo Bills last week, which allowed Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara to run wild. Ingram finished with 131 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns, and consequently saw his price jump by over $1,000 this week.

While last week's performance was awesome -- and the Saints are listed as heavy favorites again this week -- it seems unlikely that Ingram will again find himself in such an overwhelmingly positive game script. If he doesn't, it will be very difficult for him to pay off this price tag. He hasn't played over 60% of the snaps in any of the past three New Orleans games, and Kamara's presence has almost completely taken away Ingram's passing involvement. As such, he is a touchdown-dependent back, albeit one in an offense that should score lots of touchdowns.

This isn't to say that Ingram is a bad play this week. New Orleans' 29.25-point implied team total puts him firmly in play in tournaments. Shelling out that much salary for him in cash games is a fairly risky idea, though.

Jamaal Williams, Green Bay Packers

Week 10 Salary: $4,700

Week 11 Salary: $5,600

FanDuel did a good job of pricing up Jamaal Williams, following a 20-carry performance last week, but is he perhaps still too cheap? With Aaron Jones out and Ty Montgomery doubtful, Williams is going to be looking at all the work he can handle in Week 11 -- a highly unusual situation for a back this affordable.

While the additional work didn't result in fantasy goodness last week, that could be partially due to the matchup against a Chicago Bears team that ranks sixth against the run according to our metrics. He'll have a much easier matchup this week, as he faces a Baltimore Ravens team ranked 21st against the run. He isn't necessarily a cash game lock due to his inexperience and the Green Bay Packers' miniscule 17.75-point implied team total. However, he is definitely worth a look, because he frees up so much salary to fit in the higher priced studs.
