Quarterback

Chalk:

At the top end, Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Matt Ryan are all likely to be highly sought after options in their respective shootouts. If punting the position, owners are likely to go with Sam Bradford, who is coming off a huge performance, or with Joe Flacco, who is cheap and has a strong history of success against the Cleveland Browns.

With so many strong quarterback options, there really isn't likely to be a lot of "chalk" this week.

Pivots:

Ben Roethlisberger, $8,000 (vs. Minnesota Vikings): Ben Roethlisberger normally is a popular option when the Pittsburgh Steelers are playing at Heinz Field, but in a matchup against a tough Minnesota Vikings defense that held Drew Brees to single-digit FanDuel points for the majority of the game on Monday night, Roethlisberger may fly under the radar here.

While Minnesota's defense is legit, Vegas is taking the unstoppable force over the immovable object this week, projecting the Steelers offense for 25.5 points, which is the seventh-highest on the slate and makes them 5.5-point favorites. Since the 2015 season, Roethlisberger has averaged 23.85 FanDuel points in home games, as opposed to a putrid 14.72 on the road. When the Steelers were also at least 5.5-point home favorites during that time, Roethlisberger has averaged an unprecedented 25.2 FanDuel points.

That is the type of upside we're looking for if fading the top-priced quarterback options on this slate.

Philip Rivers, $7,000 (vs. Miami Dolphins): Philip Rivers comes in as a pivot off of Bradford and Flacco, although a case could be made that he should carry higher ownership than either of them. The Los Angeles Chargers are 3.5-point favorites against a weak Miami Dolphins defense. Rivers absolutely shredded their secondary last year, throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns.

With Keenan Allen back in the mix, Rivers could certainly approach that type of production this week.
