LaMarcus Aldridge, PF/C, San Antonio Spurs

DraftKings Salary: $9,300

On a slate full of players who are priced down, it sucks to pay an elevated price tag for LaMarcus Aldridge. However, the situations for the other top priced dudes today are a bit shaky.

Anthony Davis and the New Orleans Pelicans are better suited for tournament play, as they find themselves in a pace-down matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies with a 12.5-point spread that suggests a blowout could be in store. Andre Drummond is questionable with an illness, which not only could take him out of play but could result in a blowout with Blake Griffin also sidelined. If that happens, Ben Simmons would become a dicey play at an elevated salary. With Joel Embiid also out, LMA stands out as potentially the only cash-game-worthy stud priced above $8,000.

Aldridge and the San Antonio Spurs have a playoff spot all but locked up, yet they are far from coasting mode. A win tonight would put them ahead of the Utah Jazz for the 4 seed, which is important if they want home court advantage in the first round. Unless this game gets way out of hand early, expect to see Aldridge play his full complement of minutes.

While Aldridge's price is up, it still doesn't quite reflect how dominant he has been recently. Outside of the Washington Wizards game in which he left with a knee contusion, Aldridge has averaged 52.6 DraftKings points in nine games over the past three weeks. He needs 46.5 DraftKings points at this price tag, which he has hit in seven of his past eight games (excluding the Washington game). Considering his excellent play as of late and the uptempo matchup against a soft interior Los Angeles Lakers defense, Aldridge is worth a look in any format tonight.
