3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on 7/3/18

Faced with a lefty-on-lefty matchup, will Michael Brantley scratch out a hit tonight against Danny Duffy and the Royals?

Prop betting odds can be useful in daily fantasy sports to help gauge the potential performance of a player on any given night in the MLB. Likewise, the same principles can be applied in the opposite direction -- by using our fantasy projections and models to help make more informed prop bets.

Using the odds available at Bovada Sportsbook, here are three prop bets available tonight that are good plays based on our daily MLB game projections.

Please note that Vegas lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published.

Atlanta Braves at New York Yankees

Domingo German OVER 6 Strikeouts (-115)

Domingo German's last start (six earned runs and two strikeouts in three innings) did not go as planned. However, in Tuesday's matchup against the Atlanta Braves, he could be in for a big strikeout game as the New York Yankees play host.

German has a 31.1% strikeout rate at home this season, and while the Braves don't strikeout much as a team, tonight our models project German for 7.1 strikeouts.

San Francisco Giants at Colorado Rockies

Brandon Belt OVER 2.5 Runs, Hits, and RBI (-150)

Other than a small stint on the disabled list and a sluggish month of June, Brandon Belt is having a huge season for the San Francisco Giants. Our models have singled him out as a solid prop bet on the Tuesday night slate as the Giants face off against the Colorado Rockies and righty Antonio Senzatela.

Belt owns a .419 wOBA and a .280 isolated power versus right-handed pitching this season, and our models project him for 3.13 combined runs, hits, and RBI on Tuesday.

Cleveland Indians at Kansas City Royals

Michael Brantley WILL Record a Hit (-300)

Our models are really high on Michael Brantley on Tuesday, but other than whether or not he will record a hit Bovada doesn't offer any odds on the Cleveland Indians outfielder. At other books that may be different, but tonight the chalk is worth it.

Despite his -300 odds and a lefty-versus-lefty matchup against Danny Duffy, our models still like Brantley to collect 1.6 hits against the Kansas City Royals.
