With the Colorado Rockies, Boston Red Sox, and New York Yankees all in top hitting spots tonight, the Texas Rangers could get left behind, despite a worthwhile 5.07 implied team total leading up to another hot and humid evening in Arlington. And particularly with Joey Gallo getting another lefty-lefty matchup tonight, he'll be someone most will likely skip over.

But that doesn't mean we can't use Gallo's powerful bat against Eric Skoglund, who has a lackluster 4.79 SIERA, 17.1% strikeout rate, and 8.4% walk rate over 63 1/3 career innings. While we don't have a large sample size to go off of, Skoglund hasn't shown himself to be particularly strong against either side of the plate, and he's allowed a 37.0% hard-hit rate to lefty bats.

Therefore, if you're stacking the Rangers, don't be afraid to throw Gallo into the mix. We know he has power for days, and even against southpaws he's put up a 44.3% hard-hit rate, .341 wOBA and .261 ISO since the start of last year. The ball likes to find it's way out of the ballpark on these hot Texas nights, and Gallo tends to be the best man for the job.
