Islanders trusting Jaroslav Halak against the Wild on Thursday
The New York Islanders are starting Jaroslav Halak in goal versus the Minnesota Wild on Thursday.
Halka has struggled mightily this season, especially on the road, which he will be on Thursday. In seven road starts, he has a 1-5-1 record with a 3.66 goals against average, and a .902 save percentage. Halak also has the misfortune of facing one of the hottest teams in the league in the Wild, who have won 11 consecutive games.
Our models don't like Halak's chances much in Minnesota with projections of 2.7 goals allowed, 260 saves, and only a 30.0 percent chance of winning.
