Jimmy Howard suffers LBI in Red Wings' loss, placed on injured reserve
Detroit Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard has been placed on injured reserve following an injury suffered during Tuesday night's 4-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning.
What It Means:
Howard will be "out for a while," said Red Wings general manager Ken Holland, but a definitive timetable doesn't exist at this time. He'll undergo more tests before an update is provided.
Howard is only 5-7-1 through 14 starts this season, but he is on pace for career-bests in both save percentage (.934) and goals-against average (1.96).
