Capitals' Alex Ovechkin will not miss World Cup of Hockey
The Washington Capitals and the Russian Hockey Federation have denied a media report that winger Alex Ovechkin could miss the World Cup of Hockey due to a lower-body injury.

A member of the Capitals' PR department said that there is "No truth to this rumor." He also added that Ovechkin is currently in Moscow, where he is training for the upcoming tournament, as well as the NHL season.
Ovechkin had another dominant goal-scoring season, posting the league high with 50. He added 21 assists to give him 71 points in 79 games played. Ovechkin was also solid at driving possession, recording a Corsi For Percentage of 53.2 and a Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength of 4.0.
