Jets sign Patrik Laine to three-year entry-level contract
Rookie left winger Patrik Laine has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Winnipeg Jets.
What It Means:
The second overall pick of the 2016 draft, Laine played last season in the Finnish Elite League, and he is expected to be able to step into the Jets lineup immediately.
Winnipeg finished last season ranking 20th in the NHL with a -0.20 nERD, and the season represented a step in the wrong direction after they made the playoffs in 2014-2015 for the first time since their return to Winnipeg.
