Washington's Braden Holtby wins the Vezina Trophy

Washington Capitals goalie Braden Holtby has been named the 2016 winner of the Vezina Trophy.

What It Means:

Much like Patrick Kane was a runaway winner of the Hart Trophy, Holtby was the clear-cut top option here. He got 140 points to Ben Bishop's 51, so the voters agreed.

The Capitals' netminder tied the single-season record with 48 wins in 2015-'16. He recorded a 2.20 goals against and .922 save percentage in 66 appearances.
