Toronto trades for Frederik Andersen, signs him to a five-year deal
Goalie Frederik Andersen has been traded from the Anaheim Ducks to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for the 30th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Draft and a second-round pick in 2017.
The Ducks utilized Andersen in tandem with John Gibson last year, but now both netminders will be top dogs for the 2016-'17 season. Andersen was set to become a restricted free agent, but Toronto didn't let that happen, immediately inking him to a five-year contract.
Andersen had a nice season this past year, putting up a 2.30 goals against average and .919 save percentage
