Andrew Shaw

Andrew Shaw, Blackhawks still talking new deal

Winger Andrew Shaw and the Chicago Blackhawks are still discussing a new contract.

What It Means:

Chicago is waiting to see what the salary cap will look like before making an offer. Shaw can become a restricted free agent in July and both sides would like to work something out to keep him with the club.

Shaw tallied 34 points (14 goals, 20 assists) in 78 games played during the regular season. His Corsi For Percentage of 51.4 and his Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength of -0.6 were both below his career averages. Shaw recorded a point-per-game in the playoffs, scoring four goals and dishing out two assists in six games during Chicago's first round series loss to the St. Louis Blues.
