Stars' Antti Niemi pulled after allowing three goals on 12 shots

Dallas Stars netminder Antti Niemi allowed three goals on 12 shots and was pulled in the Stars' 6-1 blowout loss to St. Louis Blues in Game 3.

What It Means:

Niemi was yanked at 2:34 of the second period. Kari Lehtonen, who started Games 1 and 2, made 23 saves on 26 shots in relief. Dallas is going to need much better goaltending from both of their netminders if they hope to advance past St. Louis. It wouldn't be surprising if the Stars went back to Lehtonen in Game 4.

In the regular season, Niemi owned a measly .905 save percentage while Lehtonen recorded a .906 save percentage. It's a testament to the Stars' high-powered offense that they had the most points in the Western Conference despite the poor goaltending.
