Vladimir Tarasenko didn't get much ice time in Game 7 for Blues

St. Louis Blues winger Vladimir Tarasenko logged just 14:31 of ice time in the Game 7 win Monday against the Chicago Blackhawks.

What It Means:

He saw nearly two minutes of that on the power play and he didn't pick up a point in the contest. Tarasenko had one great scoring chance from the high slot, which was gloved down by Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford. Tarasenko's ice time during the postseason has been a topic of conversation, but he hasn't been lacking in total shifts. Coach Ken Hitchcock said he likes using Tarasenko in short shifts, but playing a star player for only 14:31 is a puzzling decision even though it ended up working out for the Blues.

Tarasenko finished the regular season with 74 points (40 goals, 34 assists) in 80 games played and continued the impressive production in round one. He tallied six points (four goals, two assists) in the seven games against Chicago. St. Louis will play the Dallas Stars in round two.
