Nashville yanks Pekka Rinne, Carter Hutton superb in relief

Nashville Predators goalie Pekka Rinne had a night to forget Monday.

What It Means:

Rinne was pulled after making only seven saves on 10 shots in a 4-3 loss to the visiting Colorado Avalanche. Rinne, 33, had been hot before Monday night, winning five consecutive starts. He had only one regulation loss in his previous 16 decisions. Monday, though, he was cold, allowing the Avs to jump ahead 3-0 in the first period before being replaced by Carter Hutton, who stopped 16 of 17 shots.

Rinne's goals against average blew up to 2.43, and his save percentage decreased to .909. Hutton's goals against average improved to 2.30, and his save percentage is now .918.
