Lee Stempniak nets goal, records assist as Devils edge Rangers

New Jersey Devils forward Lee Stempniak scored a goal and passed out an assist in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the New York Rangers.

What It Means:

Stempniak tied the game at one early in the second period, and he added an assist on David Schlemko's game-winning goal in the third period. The 32-year-old has been a pleasant surprise in 2015-'16. He has 15 goals and 38 points in 51 games this season. Stempniak could be a player to watch around trade deadline day if the Devils fall out of the playoff picture.

Our models expect him to tally 10 more goals with 13 assists over the remainder of the season. His 46.4 Corsi For Percentage and -1.9 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength are both well blow his career averages.
