Nail Yakupov scores in return, but Oilers fall to Sharks

Edmonton Oilers winger Nail Yakupov returned Thursday night in the only way he'd choose to, by scoring a goal.

What It Means:

Unfortunately it was the only goal Edmonton managed in the 2-1 overtime loss to the San Jose Sharks. Yakupov did his part in 17 shifts and 11:30 of work. He now has three goals and 13 points in 23 games, and is technically now on a nice two-game point streak.

Over the remainder of the season, we project Yakupov to tally six goals and 10 helpers in 29 games. It's a small sample size of just 22 games, but his Corsi For Percentage (49.3) and Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength (-1.4) are career-high marks.
