Mathieu Perreault

Mathieu Perreault will play Tuesday for Jets

Winnipeg Jets winger Mathieu Perreault will play Tuesday night after injuring his back in Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

What It Means:

Perreault was taken to the hospital for tests, but he is OK. He explained the need for the hospital visit by saying, "I was having a little bit of trouble breathing and my left lung was hurting when I took deep breaths. I wasn't too sure what was going on and they didn't want to take any chances. They didn't know if something was wrong with the spleen, so that's what led to the big scene." Perreault is expected to skate with Nikolaj Ehlers and Chris Thorburn.

Perreault has 28 points (7 goals, 21 assists) in 42 games played this season. He has had great possession stats for his entire career, but his 57.5 Corsi For Percentage and his 8.4 Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength are both career highs. We project him to tally another 29 points (10 goals, 19 assists) over the remaining course of the season. The 57 total points would be a new career high.
