Toronto's James van Riemsdyk (foot) out six to eight weeks
Toronto Maple Leafs forward James van Riemsdyk will be out of action for six-to-eight weeks with a non-displaced fracture in his left foot.
What It Means:
This is a massive blow for Toronto. van Riemsdyk leads the Maple Leafs in scoring with 29 points in 40 games. He is also second on the club with 14 goals. His presence on the power play will be sorely missed, as well.
The former second overall pick was having his best season in terms of possession metrics. Both his Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength (7.7) and his Corsi For Percentage (55.2) are career-best clips.
