Artemi Panarin scores two goals again in Blackhawks' win
Chicago Blackhawks forward Artemi Panarin scored two goals, including the game winner, to lead the Blackhawks to a 3-1 triumph over the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday night.
If this sounds familiar, it's because it happened Tuesday night, as well. It's the second straight game Panarin has netted two goals, including the game winner, against Pittsburgh. Panarin produced his 14th goal of the season in giving Chicago a 1-0 lead at 15:58 of the first period, and he scored his 15th goal at 8:36 of the third period for the game winner. Also scoring a goal for Chicago Wednesday was Teuvo Teravainen, who found the empty net at 18:54 of the third period. Chicago outshot Pittsburgh 37-18. Patrick Kane assisted on Panarin's first goal, giving him 60 points on the season.
Panarin, a 24-year-old rookie from Russia's KHL, has wasted no time getting adjusted to the NHL. He has tallied 15 goals and 23 assists in 42 games. Our models forecast him to score 27 points -- 10 goals and 17 assists -- over the final 40 contests. Panarin's Corsi For Percentage (54.1) and Relative Corsi For Percentage at Even Strength (1.7) are both stellar clips. On the books for just $812,500 against the cap through next season, Panarin has been a massive steal for the Blackhawks.
