Canucks' Brandon Sutter out four to six weeks after surgery

Vancouver Canucks forward Brandon Sutter had successful surgery to repair a sports hernia on Tuesday.

What It Means:

Sutter's last game came on November 10, and the surgery is expected to keep him out for another four to six weeks.

Sutter has eight points (four goals, four assists) in 16 games this season while posting and average time on ice of 18:53. This is the third most ice time among forwards on the Canucks. We had projected Sutter to score 23 points in 52 games over the remaining course of the season, but these totals can be expected to decrease significantly with the time he's going to miss.
