Cowboys' head coach says Darren McFadden injured his groin Wednesday

Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett said running back Darren McFadden's groin injury "popped up" in Wednesday's practice.

What It Means:

After the tweak, Garrett stated the Cowboys would take "a cautious approach rest of week with him." McFadden was "limited" in Thursday's practice, and again participated in Friday's session. The news does indicate McFadden has an injury, and his Thursday limitations were not entirely to "keep him fresh," as was reported by NFL Network. This remains a situation to monitor. We do fully expect McFadden to start against the Miami Dolphins.

On 160 opportunities through Week 10, McFadden has put together 9.88 Total Net Expected Points (NEP), which is the 20th-best mark among running backs with at least 50 opportunities. Miami checks in 21st in Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP per play.
