Giovani Bernard set to be the Bengals' starting running back in Week 3
Cincinnati Bengals running back Giovani Bernard is set to become the team's starter in Week 3.
Joe Mixon suffered a minor knee injury on Thursday and will need a couple of weeks to recover. Bernard will have a difficult matchup against the Carolina Panthers in Week 3, but he should have an easier time against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 4. Rookie Mark Walton is likely to be Bernard's backup until Mixon can return.
Bernard didn't get much work in Week 1, but he had 6 carries for 27 yards and 4 receptions for 15 yards in last night's win over the Baltimore Ravens.
