Saints' Cameron Meredith 'best bet' for second receiving job
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Cameron Meredith is the "best bet" for the number-two role, believes Josh Katzenstein of The Times-Picayune.
"Meredith’s ability to play inside and outside should give coaches options with how to manipulate matchups," Katzenstein surmises. Meredith's sophomore campaign was cut short by a serious knee injury but if he returns healthy, it's possible that the soon-to-be 26-year-old beats out Ted Ginn for the second receiver job behind Michael Thomas.
Meredith is currently behind Ginn (WR49) and outside of the top-60 receivers in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models currently project him to catch 39.7 passes (68.1 targets) for 513.7 yards and 3.07 touchdowns during his first year in New Orleans.
