Gruden: Derrius Guice to take on two-down role for Washington
Washington Redskins coach Jay Gruden suggested that rookie running back Derrius Guice would play a two-down role for the team.
What It Means:
Gruden said, "Really, our role is quite easy to see. It's first, second down." He did point out that Guice has good enough hands, but it's unlikely he'll push Chris Thompson for the team's pass-catching role. In college, the 20-year-old wasn't known for his hands much, so his usage will be limited in year one.
Our own JJ Zachariason has Guice projected for 255.4 carries, 1,052.1 yards and 7.2 rushing touchdowns in his rookie season.
