Patriots acquire Cordarrelle Patterson from Raiders
The New England Patriots acquired wide receiver/return man Cordarrelle Patterson and a 2018 sixth-round pick from the Oakland Raiders in exchange for a 2018 fifth-round pick, reports the Pardon My Take podcast.
Patterson probably won't be involved very much on offense but he should have no problem taking over on kick returns, following Dion Lewis' departure to the Tennessee Titans. The former first-round pick has led the league in kickoff return average three times during his five years in the NFL. Patterson turned 27 on Saturday.
Patterson averaged 28.3 yards on 19 kickoff returns last season.
