Report: Giants asked Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie to take 'significant' pay cut
According to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the New York Giants have asked cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromarte to take a "significant" pay cut this season.
The 31-year-old is due $6.48 million in 2018 and the two sides are "far apart" on where they're at financially. There's been talk around moving him to safety, but there's a chance that he explores the market elsewhere.
This past season, Rodgers-Cromartie played in 15 games, producing 31 tackles, 1 pass defense and 1 sack. Pro Football Focus had him as their 58th-ranked corner in 2017.
