Charles Johnson hoping to return after Vikings' Week 5 bye
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Charles Johnson is hoping to return following the team's Week 5 bye, according to Ben Goessling of ESPN.
Johnson wasn't able to suit up on Sunday after suffering a rib injury in Week 3. The Vikings will be paired with the Kansas City Chiefs Week 6.
In Johnson's place, rookie Stefon Diggs was able to make his debut against the Denver Broncos. He was targeted 10 times, turning those 10 targets into 6 receptions into 6.55 Reception Net Expected Points (NEP) and 0.66 Reception NEP per target. Johnson, by comparison, only had 0.33 Reception NEP on his 8 targets prior to the injury. It's a small sample size, but Johnson will still face additional competition for targets once he returns.
