Tampa Bay's Doug Martin goes over 100 yards in loss
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Doug Martin rushed 20 times for 106 yards and a touchdown in Tampa Bay's Week 4 loss to the Carolina Panthers, adding 5 receptions for an additional 37 yards.
Martin finally got loose despite swamp-like conditions in Tampa. He took advantage of a Panthers defense missing Charles Johnson and Luke Kuechly.
Martin racked up an impressive 4.89 Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) in the outing. He came into the game ranked dead last in Rushing NEP at -10.83. Always a threat to be sabotaged by game flow, Martin is now on pace for 1,128 yards and is still averaging just 4.3 yards per carry. We don't see him maintaining this pace, though, projecting him for 655 rushing yards, 170 receiving yards and 4 total touchdowns the rest of the way.
