Philip Rivers throws for 358 yards, 3 touchdowns in Chargers' victory

Philip Rivers completed 23-of-38 passes for 358 yards and 3 touchdowns in the San Diego Chargers' Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns.

What It Means:

Despite missing three starting offensive linemen due to injury, the Chargers went to town on the Browns Sunday. Rivers was surgical about making checks at the line and set his protections pre-snap from the shotgun, and that led to three scores for three different pass-catchers. He was especially proficient with the deep ball today, and should be once again a top-tier quarterback option heading into Week 5.

Coming into the week, Rivers ranked just 14th in per-play Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) among starting quarterbacks, but he will be a surefire top-10 quarterback against a Pittsburgh Steelers' defense that ranked just 23rd through Week 3 in per-play schedule-adjusted Defensive Passing NEP.
