Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes could still play this season
It is reportedly "not off the table" that Kansas City Chiefs first-round rookie quarterback Patrick Mahomes plays this season if quarterback Alex Smith continues to struggle.
Smith is slated as the starter in Week 13, and while there have been some bumps for the veteran over the last three weeks, Rapoport did say that the Chiefs want this to be a redshirt season for Mahomes. Still, if the Chiefs continue to lose and Smith keeps turning the ball over, it's apparently not out of the question that Mahomes gets a start down the stretch.
For Week 13, our models project Smith for 17.6 FanDuel points at a cost of $7,600 against the New York Jets.
