Eli Manning

Eli Manning still the starter for now, but Giants not ruling out eventual change this season

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning remains the team's starter, but head coach Ben McAdoo said that Geno Smith or Davis Webb could eventually take over.

What It Means:

"That doesn’t mean at some point in time we won’t throw another guy in there to get a look at," McAdoo said. The Giants are 1-7 with arguably the worst collection of offensive skill players in the league and porous protection up front, so they don't really have anything to lose by seeing what Webb is capable of after selecting him in the third round of this year's draft. Manning, now in his age-36 season, has started every game for the Giants since his NFL debut in Week 1 of the 2004 campaign. He will remain the starter against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10.

Manning is 187-of-296 (63.2 percent) for 1,820 yards with 12 touchdowns and 6 interceptions this season. Over the past five games, he's thrown 8 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions.
