Texans add T.J. Yates to quarterback room
The Houston Texans signed quarterback T.J. Yates.
Yates was drafted by the Texans in the fifth round back in 2011, and he will join Matt McGloin as the newest additions to Houston's quarterback room following Deshaun Watson's knee injury. Tom Savage will start against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9, but it's anyone's guess as to who takes over under center for the Texans after that.
For his career, Yates has completed 132-of-227 passes (58.1 percent) for 1,534 yards with 6 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. He owns a 4-3 record as a starter in the regular season and has gone 1-1 in the postseason.
