'Disconnect' existed between Browns' front office, coaching staff on A.J. McCarron

According to The Cincinnati Enquirer, a "disconnect" existed between the Cleveland Browns' front office and coaching staff in regards to acquiring quarterback A.J. McCarron.

What It Means:

The Browns came awfully close to acquiring the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback, but the deal wasn't confirmed by the league due to a "paperwork issue." The reported deal would have sent a second- and third-round pick to the division rival Bengals. Surely, part of the disconnect had to do with coach Hue Jackson's experience as McCarron's offensive coordinator in Cincinnati.

Yet to appear in 2017, the 27-year-old McCarron had appeared in 7 games while starting 3 a year ago. In his time, he totaled 854 pass yards, 6 touchdowns and 2 interceptions on 79 completions and 119 attempts.
