Andrew Luck

Colts will not shelve Andrew Luck (shoulder) even if team is out of contention

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck (shoulder) will return if he's healthy this season, regardless of the team's record, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

What It Means:

The Colts are giving mixed signals here; Jacoby Brissett has been told to prepare as if he'll be the starter for the rest of the season, though Rapoport said it's a "fact" that Luck will return if healthy. Luck will not practice this week following his latest setback and a late November return is probably his best case scenario, per Rapaport. The Colts will continue to hold off on placing Luck on season-ending I.R., but his lack of progress may eventually force their hand.

Among the 34 quarterbacks with at least 50 drop backs so far this season, Brissett's -0.01 Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) per drop back is 25th.
