What It Means:

Head coach Mike McCarthy hasn't come out and said anything along these lines, but he did hint at it in Wednesday's news conference. He said that he's aware of Montgomery's usage and that that's what the team's game plan is for. But the running back's role could be dependent upon game script and injuries so there's a possibility that we don't see much of a down-tick in usage and production from the wide receiver turned running back. If anything, Jamaal Williams should get an extra carry or two for Green Bay.

Don't let the usage talk scare you off. Montgomery is a solid RB1 in season-long and is our 8th-ranked running back, with a projection of 15.1 FanDuel points, heading into Week 3. He runs $7,200 on the main slate.
